What holds us back? Fear of failure!
Many times in the past I have hesitated to create or do something. Do you know what I’ve realised in those lean times of hesitation? It is super important to just kick something off without any fear of failure and to see how it develops. No idea is perfect initially and what matters is the journey it takes you on. If you learn something from the experience, that’s what’s most important. That’s what makes you grow. So many of us spend so much of our lives afraid of failure that we put off what we want to do. I’ve realised it’s actually good to fail and that mindset gives you freedom to try anything out! Want to learn to code? Do it! Want to start an online business? Do it! Whatever it is. Do it!
Fail, fail again. Fail better.
– Samuel Beckett
Every now and again something happens in us and we get that burst of inspiration spawning us into urgent action. More often than not, it is short lived, the idea burns out, we go back to our familiar ways of thinking unable to sustain that initial inspiration for an extended period of time. Sometimes inspiration is brief but it’s a great feeling when it happens. The main challenge is to sustain that inspiration for an extended period of time, not let it fizzle out and go for it. Keep creating, keep getting better and keep improving!
So go on! Fail! Good things will come of it!
